What is mantra

Mantra is the creative projection of the mind through sound. The word mantra consists of two words, Man – Mind and Trang – wave, the name of the mantra suggests the power to change your mind waves.
The use of mantra is based on the knowledge that sound, as an energy form, can create a deep influence over the human chakras and soul.
Mantras are types of formulas that change the patterns of the mind and brain chemistry, working on a physical, as well as meta-physical level. The power of the mantra is in the sound vibration it produces. The practiced Kundalini Yoga mantras uplift our consciousness through meaning, repetition and rhythm.
Sticking the tongue to the upper palate stimulates the pineal and pituitary gland and thus contributes to changes in brain structure. The sound frequency that the mantra creates helps the thought and emotional frequency rise to a more subtle frequency. By chanting or inner repeating of the mantra we apply a certain frequency that influences our reality for the better, even if we do not understand the meaning of the sounds that we sing. The chant leads us to be in alignment with the cosmic vibration—Naad.
Naad is the name of the harmonizing process through which the infinite can manifest. The Naad is the initial sound consisting of all sounds and all languages. The Naad comes directly from the source and represents universal code behind human language and communication.
